Hi Anthony, Sorry to hear of your frightening experience with that pit bull made even worse with the fear for your grandson's safety as well. Can't understand why they don't come under the dangerous dogs act. They frighten the life out of me even when they're on leads especially when you see the mentality of the owners!! who breed them for fighting and use them as a fashion statement Anyway no thought of training even going to enter my head till at least 6th January when I hope to have sucessfully cleared every mince pie/pud, trifle. chocolate and ounce of double cream from the house washed down with plenty of alchohol it would be a shame to waste it now wouldn't it? With regards MaryF

Hi Mary C. Thanks but im afraid its gone to my head and i just cant stop chowning the lower ranks.Im sure i will seattle down now that Rose has been promoted and she can take a turn as orderly Officer. I see you were on duty over the festive season and had to travel in dangerous conditions.I can imagine how Hard it would be to drive on those hills in ice & snow. How lucky we are to have devoted people like you to look after us when we fall sick. Looking forward to meeting you at the next meeting of the Morden Platoon and all the best for 2010. Regards Anthony.

Hi Anthony, Let the promotion go to your head, I'm sure you'll calm down, driving was not too bad coming to work once you managed to get onto the main road, I was lucky my neighbour dug the snow away in our carpark so managed to get my car up the top of the close. Although it took a bit to drive out from there. After doing a night duty I was driving home my normal route and thought to myself, "I don't remember driving this way last night", and that's because I hadn't I drove all the main road's, but I thought I'd try to drive down one of the Hills slowly, but halfway, it said closed but as I was so near I thought I'd still try, till I got to the start of the hill only to find a barrier across it, so that made all three hills closed, so off I went practically back to Croydon to start my journey again, that will teach me. It was lovely having the snow and we still have some of it left, but gosh it's so cold.
Cheers Mary C

Hi Mary,
Christmas was very good and saw the New Year in in style with plenty of bubbly and wine - am feeling th effects of it today which is why I'm trying to keep myself busy by being on the site. My stepson came back from Oz on Tuesday - he is here for just over a week as his daughter starts at the English National Ballet on 6th Jan - it has been lovely to spend time with them - they are feeling the cold after leave 40 degree heat.

Hi All,
Kathy and myself are planning a visit to Ireland in March and as we don't have any family there now we want to stay at a good b&b in Newbridge for a couple of days - do any of you have recommendations?
Regards.
