Judging by the mid-summer full stop, guess everyone is out & about on their holls!! Mine was a ONE OFF! earlier in the year touring around Australias Gold Coast = Fab time with 4 days stop-over in Singapore.
Where did all you folks spend your time?

;D I am takeing a week in Ireland next week my family and i are comeing over for a family wedding on the 9th of August however we are going to Waterford to stay with a friend of mine who is again a member of a old Curragh family. I always say that whenever i see the two Towers of the Curragh my Heart misses a beat. Does this to us all ex Curragh residents or am i being just silly any comments Sean Tracey. ;D

Hi Sean
Good to hear from you again. I commute to and from Dublin every day on the M7 and still love the part of the Newbridge By-Pass where you come up a gradual hill and as you reach the top, the Water Tower and Church Bell Tower come into view about three miles in the distance. So I am lucky I get to see the view most evenings. Enjoy your holidays.
All the best
Matt

Sean & Matt:
It's a coincidence that I arrive in Dublin on August 9th. I'll pick up a car at the airport and drive through the Curragh on my way to Kildare.
I look forward to seeing the land of my youth. Over the two weeks I'll be home, I'll walk the plantations, plains and grassy knolls gawking at the countless ewes and lambs feasting like Romans on the abundance of meadow grass. Observing the flowers and trees singing and chanting in full bloom. I know I'll find peace and comfort amid the quietness, stillness and simple beauty. I'll raise both arms, close my eyes, feel the breeze and embellish paradise on earth.
Enjoy your hols Sean.
Brendan

Yes There is something soothing about the view toward the curragh ... It feels like home when the watertower comes into view. Sean Tracey did you live across from the boys school ? I knew a girl called Julie from there and enjoyed some lovely dinners with her family. xx

Hi Just dropped in to see how the forum is going. As you can see I am here in Spain the weather is great and enjoying the break. While looking for a pub to watch the Kildare V Cork match yesterday, I bumped into Richie Flynn from O´Higgins Tce. I went to school with Richie and was also in the 16th Platoon in the 3rd Battalion in 1985. Nice to bump into a fellow Curragh person even if Kildare did not win. Anyhow all the best. Matt Sunday 17th Aug Just reading on the Internet about all the rain that you are having back home. So just to make you feel better Don´t say that I don´t think about ye ;D Matt

Hi All, It's quiet depressing talking of lands foreign & blue skies . We decided to forfeit a holiday this year to go big next year. . . . .Disneyland, Florida. Three blissful weeks, but sadly a whole year away. So Please Matt, Teresa, ANYONE bring back some sun. I love to look out across the curragh on a beautiful sunny day & breathe in the sweet smell of the gorse bushes . . . Aaaahhh! Take pity on us you leave behind. Enjoy
