Hi Maura
The Granite stone over the doors dates the building “1900” and judging by the almost completed height of the building and stone work, I would say 1899 or early 1900.

Hi Matt and all, Re: The Water Tower. An impressive piece of scaffolding. I notice some ladders at frightening angles and the absence of toe boards in places. I expect the ‘Health and safety at Work’ act was an aspiration from the distant future. As a matter of interest, does anybody know of any injuries/fatalities during the construction? Regards JJ

Hi Dan I know that you will keep that picture for me, I am still a bit on the busy side, My Son is still very ill, and while their is a slight improvement he is in for a long haul, just a note on the building of the Fire Station, I actually remember it when it was only a Fire Bucket. Hope you are all keeping well, and say hello to all the Engineers for me. Regards JKelly
