Hi Everyone, I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. It is 12.30 at Victoria. The best bet if anyone arrives early rather than hang around the station is to meet up in the Shakespere pub which is just across the road on the corner. Happier now after hearing Kathyos welcome news! Pity you can't make it Ant. I see Maryc did say in her msg back to you that she'd try her best to see if she could try and accommodate your free dates, so maybe you!l get another chance to bid her farewell. But she really hasn't got many days left to juggle about. Safe journey all see you soon.... MaryF.

Hi Andy, The answer to the insomnia question is yes. Can't seem to be able to stay in the ould leaba these days. Even on holidays or weekends no chance of a lay in no matter how I try I wake up several times through the night and usually give up and get up for good about 5 ish. Thats a huge turnaround for someone who loved having a good lay in. Shur I had me poor ma's heart broken trying to drag me out first for school and later on for work. I'd turn over so many times, shouting down to her that I was up! even banging the shoe on the floor to make out I was moving about, Mondays were definitely the worst(after the weekend in Keadeen Lost count of the times I stood by the P.A's box by the water tower hail, rain and snow thumbing a lift because I'd missed the ten past nine bus . don't know about now but in those days the next bus wasn't until twenty to eleven. Always did get a lift don't know if I'd fare so well nowadays? The result of the unearthly hour I get up in the morning is when I get in from work of an evening as soon as I settle myself down to watch a program can't keep the ould peepers open. Before you know it I'm off in the land of nod Zzzzzzz. Miss most of me programs and then when it is time to head to the land of dreams I'm wide awake!!! vicious circle really. MaryF

Hi Con, Hope You're keeping well. Our meeting is next Saturday 13th at Victoria,at 12.30. For anyone arriving early we've said to meet in the Shakespere pub (So that people are not hanging around outside the station its so easy to miss people that way) which is on the corner just across the road from the station. When everyone has arrived we will probably head down the road to a lovely little Withersthingys which is very quiet and has a pretty good menu along with fine wine. The atmosphere we'll bring along with us I'm afraid I'm responsible for any confusion as I posted the wrong date last week and as I was signed on as guest was unable to change it. I did print another one to try to rectify my mistake so hope I haven't put anyone off. I do hope you can make it Kathy and Eileen are travelling up and myself and Mag will also be there not to mention MaryC and I think her sister. So it should be a good day. Looking forward to seeing you again Con. Take care MaryF

Hi Ant and Con, I do apologise my mistake the post should have read your name Ant, not Con, as it was you who said you were unable to attend and as you said we have not had a reply from Con. Head in the clouds at the moment and doing all night shifts at the moment so don't if I'm coming or going or maybe I've already gone. Hope to see you soon, as may not be making the move now till the new year, nothing ever goes to plan. Take care MaryC

Hello Friends, First and foremost let me say what a wonderful day I had with the lovely Morden Platooners, It was just great justseeing everyone and being able to catch up and enjoy each others company. We consumed some fine food and even finer wine, we even splashed out on the champers(Oh we well and truely pushed the boat out on Saturday ;D) and why not. As for the company only the best of course. The meeting was tinged with sadness as we were bidding a fond farewell to MaryC , but,as it happens she might be with us for a while longer so we might be able to fit in another meeting before she starts her travels who knows? Many toasts were made as we remembered with fondness our dear absent friends, who were never far from our thoughts and were sadly missed. We were also minus Ant but he had a pressing engagement so hopefully we'll be able to catch up sometime soon. Which left poor Con god love him, surrounded with a bunch of chattering Curragh women. But fair play to you Con you managed to get a word in a true gent. It was so good seeing everyone and we hope to arrange a meeting before xmas that everyone will be able to attend Thank you all for a lovely, lovely day. I really enjoyed myself and that was down to all of you. You can deny the love of the Curragh we all share. Bye for Now MaryF As usual time ran out on us far to soon and we had to part and go our separate ways

Mary, Very kind comments regarding our lovely afternoon together down Victoria way on Saturday last. As the only male in the company of all you beautiful Curragh females, being outnumbered did not bother me in the least and I enjoyed your company and the occasion.
Finally, I am left wondering where are all the ex. Curragh people who are continually mentioned in this forum, most of them based in the Greater London area but we never see them, perhaps they are too shy!!

Hi all Morden Platooners, Thank you all for turning up for our meet on Saturday it was truly a great day out but as Mary says it went way too quickly. We did have some lovely food and then a glass or two of the Champers what a lovely touch, thank you all. I really had a great day I think we all had, and hopefully we can arrange another before Christmas. As Con says it would be lovely to have some more Curragh people join us, I think there are quite a few of us living in the London area, so don't be shy you'll fit right in. Take care MaryC

Hiya Platooners. Let me be the first to wish all you Morden Platooners a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wonder if we'll wet the whistle together before the new year rings in. . Just checking my holly which was full of red berries a month ago seems the Birds have started their festive season early. Not a berry left they scoffed the lot .Well a Berry Christmas to the Birds. Cheers ;D Ant.

I would like to wish all the Morden Platooners a very Merry Christmas and all the best wishes for 2013. I hope everyone enjoys the festives, I am by choice working the nights of 24-26th, my first Christmas to work and I have to say I am so looking forward to it, not sure about the patients though as my plan is to wake them all at midnight, but hopefully they will forgive me. Take care MaryC
