Hi all I am sure there are not many among you who does not remember Mick o Connor in Brownstown as well as Sam,
I have memories of running to the bookies when we lived in connolly during lunch break from school to put on bets for Pat Confroy and Darby Delany and any one else, I always went to Mick because he would give you back a few pence depending on the size of the bet, Sam was not as generous anyway I used to nip into Mrs Keatings shop for sweets and gallop back to be in time with the mouth bulging with a gobstopper and gasping for breath more good times,

Hi Andy, I was talking to johnny last night and he sends his regards to you and Trisha, I was telling him about your post about the bookies, and he also remembers going out Mick O'Connor's with bets for some of the lads in the barracks, he also was talking about the paper round he used to do, and collecting bottles to bring back to get a few pence off them. They were very simple times. Mary Byrne (Dolan)

When he was a stable lad he used to bring me along on Sundays to help muck out. he had a hard job for little pay but when he got his yearly suit from the trainer he was the best dressed of us all. Trish sends her regards to you. For now byee Andy
