Who remembers the Danish gymnastics team that visited The Curragh Camp during the 1970’s. I don’t know if they were a military display team, but they used to put on a number of displays / shows in the new gymnasium. They did all sorts of routines and a small bit of clowning around. Remember getting my seat upstairs and having a great view of the show. As far as I remember they came to The Curragh a few years. Was anybody else there ??

You Weren't dreaming Matt. I think most of us from the O'Higgins Terrace area at the time would remember.
I remember that we all went through a phase of wanting to be a potential gymnast but it was mainly a chance for us to socialise. I'd say Imelda Flynn and David Hogan had great potential though.
As for our Danish visitors, my only memory was my father investigating some minor theft of danish kroner which was later recovered. Funnily the money was completely different and made up of coins so was of no use to anyone.
