My Great Grandfather attended the Army Gymnastics School and graduated in 1899 I believe. I'm hoping to find out some more info on his parents and siblings.
You'll be Proud and happy to know Harry Served as a Lancer in the Boar war, immigrated in 1902, looking for his father who went for the gold rush. He opened up a gym in Pasadena California and was then discovered by the President of Stanford who recruited him as an athletic director and coach at Stanford University. He coached, Fencing, Soccer, Rugby, Wrestling, Boxing, Tennis, Track and Field. No body else in history has or ever will come close to what he did. He was remarkable. He was President of the California Rugby Association, Trainer of the 1920 1924 Olympic Gold winning Rugby teams. Stanford has named a soccer field in his honor as well as a scholarship. He enlisted in WWII for the USA and served as captain at Camp Freemont as an athletic director.
Here's a great book on his career, Stanford Athletic Stories Vol I By Hank Kraychir. He was known as Seven Sport Maloney,
Is there anyway to get any info on his time there or what the deal was with his parents. I believe his mother died when he was 4.
Anything would help
