Hello Rose,
Yes I do remember the Warrens, but I could not have recollected all their names as you have, after they left the Curragh my Theresa used to write to Elisabeth for quite a few years she was training to become a nun…if training is the correct terminology.
I am really enjoying reading your posts you have a fantastic memory. Rose, was it you who had a toy of a dancing man & women that played waltzing Matilda?
Lovely to hear from you keep up the good work
Love Mag

Hi Mag , Yes I Did have the toy of a dancing man and woman that played Waltzing Matilda, got it at the Christmas Party. Was talking to Fr. Swan not too long ago and he had been hearing from Elizabeth but it had dwindled off and he was wondering if she had went ahead with her plan to become a nun. How well you remember that toy I remember your tricycle it was blue if I am correct. How is Theresa keeping used to love when she would take us down to the bank and tell us stories she was fantastic at it, should have been a writer she had a great imagination. Lovely to hear from you too. Love Rose

Hi Jerry,
Before Pendergasts Steadmans lived in No. 10, before O'Driscolls in number 9 it was Cummins, before Kavanaghs in 8 it was McCuskers, Walkers in 7 don't know who lived there before them, but Gillespie's moved in after they left for Navan, am almost certain Currans lived in 6 then Hanly's and then Duhigs, Salmons in 5 before us, Whelans in 4 then Christies then Potts. In 3 there was Dillons in 2 Warrens then Talbots in 1 Tyrells, I know Niall and Lil Burke nee Gorman lived there, but can't say for certain if anyone else was there in the meantime.
What number and block did you live in ?
McGlynns lived in 13 before Brennans I think.

Hi Rose
Number 12 left in 1970 to join the Navy. In Cork since dont go back to the Curragh much since my Mam died. I must say you have a great memory for the Names. In No 16 before Aherns were the Hartleys they moved to Limerick, Kevin Hartley was in the Navy at the same time as me but he transferred to the Slua Muiri (FCA) in Limerick and has retired there, also here was PJ and Charlie Coleman charlie retired in limerick, Brendan Mc Alister from Warrent Officer Qtrs Clark.

Hi Jerry/Gerard,
The Jerry put me off, could not for the life of me figure who you were, but of course the number of the house did the job, you were always called Gerard when you lived in McDonagh. PJ Coleman RIP passed away last summer.
Charlie Coleman did a great impression of Woody Pecker. I remember the Hartleys living at the top of the block.

Hi Jerry,
They are all long stories my first name is Mary. I always thought you had gone to England did'nt realise you were based in Cork. Its nice you have a few Campers around you. You would hardly recognise the Camp now nothing left of it. How many years was your Mam in McDonagh?

Hi Rose We moved from Cennent to Mc Donagh around 1960/1962 Mam moved up to Fire Station Villas about a year before they knocked Mc Donagh. I believe the Army have a lot to answer for what they have done to the Curragh.

Your a darling Rose. I remember the Walkers and Kavanaghs also because I used to hang with the lads and play in the wooded area between Easons and McDonagh Pitch and Putt area. So what became of these guys? Do you remember the Trigger Bars you could purchase across the road from the shop?

Hi PJ
Margaret Kavanagh posts on the site though we have not heard from her in a while, Larry is living in Kildare. Edward I think she said Dublin, herself and Teresa living in England. Walkers left and went to Navan, Tony and Eileen moved back to Newbridge, Tony died while they were here and after that Eileen went back to Navan she died since not too long ago. Nuala living here in Newbridge, Declan was in the Army and in Signals I think, Tom remained a Civvie and is living in Navan too.
Rose.
