The death has occurred of Peter (Poppy) DIGNAM of Fengrove, Standhouse Road, Newbridge, Kildare January 19th 2013, (suddenly) at St. James's Hospital, Dublin. Peter (Poppy), sadly missed by his loving wife Vera, sons Peter, Billy and Marc, daughter Kristin, sisters Kay, Marian and Noreen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, daughter-in-law, extended family, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May He Rest in Peace.Reposing at Anderson & Leahy's Funeral Home, Newbridge from 7 o'clock Monday evening with rosary at 7.30. Removal on Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock to arrive at Cill Mhuire, Ballymany at 6.30. Funeral after 10 o'clock Mass on Wednesday to St. Conleth's Cemetery, Newbridge. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Friends of Naas General Hospital. Donation box in Church. RIP Poppy you were a true gentleman and a proud Curragh lad!Matt McNamara and Family Newbridge

I am so sad to hear of the sad passing of Poppy Dignam formerly of Connolly tce, and Newbridge.X3rd Bn. a nice & gentle soul and a good friend. may he rest in peace

Sadly another young man from our generation has been taken away well before his time.We grew up in connolly tce together. To his wife Vera and kids and his extented family my condolences to you all . Peter(poppy)was one of the good guys may he rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to Peter's extended family on his very sad passing. I grew up with Peter (Poppy) in the Curragh Camp and am very sad to hear of his death. Rest in peace Peter. Helena Furlong Kerrigan and family

I would like to express my sincere Sympathy, to Vera and family and all poppy's extended family.
I have some great memories of poppy especially in our teenage years. I was really shocked to hear of his death.
May he rest in peace.

Our deepest Sympathy to Vera, and all the Dignam family. Poppy was a great soldier and a pleasure to serve with, and always had a smile on his face. I have fond memories of our love of music.
