Hi, Attended Pt I of Matt's talk on the Curragh which covered the period 1850's to 1922. Pt II covers 1922 to the present. For anyone with an interest in the Curragh it will be unmissable. A date has yet to be set for the second half but you will be informed asap. Regards, Johnd

Learn about the discoveries and stories unearthed during the building of the motorways over recent years through County Kildare in an illustrated talk by Noel. The March 2013 talk to the Curragh Local History Group:
"KILDARE MEN IN THE VIETNAM WAR" by Naas man James Durney author of nine books including 'Vietnam - The Irish Connection'.
It should prove to be a fascinating evening and well worth the effort of turning up. Date & Venue – Tuesday next, 26th March 2013 @ 8.00pm at the Clubroom (the old Band Hall across from the Post Office). Tea, Coffee & snacks provided and all this for a donation of €2.00. What more could one ask?

Just quick reminder of tonight's Curragh Local History Group (CLHG) talk at the clubroom on "Kildare Men In The Vietnam War" given by author, James Durney at 8pm. Enjoy the Talk, Tea, Coffee, Snacks and friendly chat with former colleagues, neighbours and friends afterwards and all for only two euro. As the man says what more could one ask.

The next monthly meeting of the Curragh Local History Group will take place at the club room (old Band hall across from the Post Office) on Tuesday 30th April 2013 at 8 pm
Guest speaker :- Matthew McNamara of this parish following up on part one of his take on the Curragh delivered in November last years. Part two will cover the period 1921 to the present day. This fine website will be among the topics covered on Tuesday night. I will post a reminder closer to the date and hope that you can attend.
Tea, coffee and scones served. Donation of 2 euro to cover expenses appreciated.
