Hi All
Just heard of the passing of an old neighbor and family friend from O'Higgins Tce and ex Medical Corps CQMS . Mr John Caffrey passed away this morning. My condolences to the Caffrey family at this sad time and at the passing of their Father and true gentleman.
Funeral Arrangements:
Former Quarter Master Medical Corps. Formerly O'Higgins Terrace, Curragh Camp. Reposing at his residence with removal from there tomorrow, Friday morning, to arrive at St. Brigid's Church, The Curragh for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial immediately afterwards in St. Conleth's Cemetery, Newbridge. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to The Cancer Society, St. James's Hospital, Dublin.

Matt,
Just reading your post , Iam sorry to hear the sad news of Johns death, My condolences to all the caffery family. I know everyone has different memories of John, mine go back many years ago when I was a recruit laid up in hospital John and paddy used to collect the racing bets around the wards they always had a smile for everyone. Real good characters.

I too was very sorry to hear of the passing of John Caffery . John to my mind epitomized what the Curragh Camp was all about. My condolences to his family. Sean Tracey.

Another Curragh legend has left us, it is sad and a sign of the passing years that so often nowadays when I check out this site yet another person of my Curragh memories has passed on. John was indeed a great character with an infectious smile and very much part of my own Curragh days. May he Rest in Peace as I know he will.

On Monday Margaret (Girlie) Price passed away. Greg and Margaret lived in McDonagh MQRS and were the best of neighbours.
