A GENERAL APOLOGY RE BEREAVEMENT
i have for some time now been mulling over in my mind the following. i have been reading of the sad losses of people i grew up with and was reared around in the curragh. now my crux! i failed to offer my condolences on the first reported death i saw, namely Fuddy Heffernan (a very good friend of mine) i have no explination as to why this occured, but in a strange way it prevented me from offering condolences on all subsequent deaths. which i profoundly regret. So to all the families that have lost a loved one i offer my sincere condolences.
I would also like to share with you all, the following...a good dose of nostalgia kicking in now,but in my mind every one of these people in one way or another were curragh legends...maybee not to everyone but every one of them will have created fond memories in somebodys mind.which to me is what this site is all about(wonderful memories) all the best boc

We all see them and then want to respond and add our condolences but don't feel our words will do justice to the person who in our minds is and was a legend. So the end result is we don't say anything and after that we feel really bad as if we've let the side down. But BOC thats not the case there will always be someone on the forum to pay the heartfelt tribute that we can add our names to and identify with if words fail us!! Like you said yourself Billy this site is about memories and every single one added into the memory bank by each member is gong to be immortilised for future generations to read and weep, and wish they had the same freedom and confidence we had as children oh boy what a truly unique life we led. Pity we didn't realise just how priviledged we were back then, all we wanted to do was get out of the camp to a new house with an inside toilet!! At that time in our lives that was the ultimate in luxury[an inside toilet] an inside bathroom was a luxury we dreamed could only happen with a BIG win on the Sweepstake!!! Billy even now although it might sound late in the day you can still add your condolences to any of the rememberence threads [Fuddy's in particular] its never too late you know!!!!! Like yourself I look forward to all the memories past and present jogging my thoughts and taking me back in time Take Care of Yourself, MaryF
