It was with regret that i heard yesterday of the sad passing of the Late Capt Paddy Butler RIP as i always held him in high esteem, ever since he took me under his wing on my 1st ever trip overseas 13th Inf Group UNFICYP. Paddy rose up through the ranks and was a senior NCO Sgt Major AND SERVED IN THE 2ND Bn eastern command and was selected to undergo the Pot Officers course and retired as a Capt. He will always be held in high regard by the youth of the Curragh rugby club as he coached them to good success in the Leinster championships. and it was only recently that there was a reunion of that team to honour Paddy for his coaching achievements.(see Ken Kinsellas comments posted in the curragh rugby club 2011) To his family my sincere sympathy May He rest in peace. Johnny
