Hi All Just a little reminder that our second social evening to raise the necessary funding for The Curragh Families Hospital Monument, takes place on Saturday 8th February. Our first social event was a great success and plenty of support turned up on the night. If you can’t make it on the night, please support us by buying a ticket. If you are overseas and would like to support us please use our secure online donation page. As treasurer for the Families Hospital Monument Committee, I get the nice job of appealing for support in our fundraising. With your support we can erect a monument that will be a symbol not only of The Curragh Families Hospital but also of the Curragh Community spirit that we all enjoyed and fondly remember. Thank you for your support. Matt McNamaraLink to the online donation page.

Matt i really enjoyed last night, well done to you for all your effort thank you. Matt this has nothing to do with you and i will probably be slated for it BUT i am dissappointed with the turn out that is happening, i know things happen and people cant go to all the events AND i do know a lot of people that dont go still buy tickets which is great but it would be nice to see all the bodies there. So sorry Matt if i have said anything to offend its just my opinion and thoughts on it

Hi Carmel
No offence taken at your comments. It’s probably no harm to highlight the fact that support for the project is only coming from a small dedicated group of people. Fundraising in the present time is a hard thing to do and maybe people don’t have the money to support such a project. But having said that I am disheartened when I see the work done by the monument committee in organising a social evening such as last night and the same group of people who have supported us in the past are the only people to support us again.
Hundreds if not thousands of families have passed through the Curragh Camp over the years and it’s sad to see the low level of support for this project. The monument committee will continue to try and raise the necessary funds to erect a monument remembering The Curragh Families Hospital.
What the monument will look like will be a true reflection of what The Curragh people and the world wide Curragh community thought of the project and whether it was worth while supporting.
The monument committee have other fundraising events planned for the coming year and hopefully people will come along and support our efforts.
On a final note I personally would like to thank everybody who has supported us to date.
Matt
