Dear All,
My Great Grandfather was based in the Curragh camp possibly at the age of 17 c.1885 - 1888 with the Royal Irish Rifles for training. Later in life during WW1 he enlisted with both the 5th Leinster Regiment and Labour Corps in his 40s. His records state that he was based in Curragh for a short time during 1916 and 1917.
Sadly, the remaining photographs my family had of him are now lost. But I understand that their were two photographers assigned to the camp a J.F Church and Donnelly Swift.
Does anyone know which of the two photographers may have covered the time periods may G.Grandfather was based in Curragh? Also, if the glass negatives were still in circulation. Does anyone know where they may have been stored?
Hope someone can help.
Many thanks.
