Re:Curragh Camp Aerial View -1934 Hi all just gandering at the photo again and if one looks at the photo you will notice on the far right os same that the GOCs house is still standing and is on what we called the Green road, just in the woods across from the old cricket grounds /rugby pitches notice that the plantations are not as of yet planted-heading past the rugby grounds to Lumville x roads, also there is no Abbitoir in situ down the Donnolly hollow road, and the Military cemetry is surrounded by large trees, JOEY for a pint what is the name of the road that we were referring to in the photo? anyone ever try going down any of the big hills on a trolly and going under a truck or the old Bedford Ambulance, now that was scary, I well remember Harry Sheridan racing down from the top of Ceannt qtrs on roller skates and with a plank up against the old school railings and landing on the felt roof of the wooden class rooms on the top yard of the school!!! bye for now Johnny

Re: Curragh Camp aerial view- 1934 Hi Joe we too were sent down to the fruit farm to buy cooking apples but by the time we arrived there at the gate the caretaker always seemed to be out, so we hopped the fence and filled our bags with apples, and off the way home with ourselves . bye for now johnny

I think the 1934 photo and the 1927 photo on FB.(and army archives)are one and the same.It looks like two people walking in the area across from the cinema. One on the road and the other across from him. They appear in both photos.Unless these two dots are not people. The '1927' photo is a cropped version of the '34' one.Great photo I hope they can find more.
