Hi,
Im tracing my family history and the story goes that my great-grandfather (Charles Kelly) met his future wife (Eliza/beth Gilbert) at Brownstown Stud. Eliza was the daughter of the then Manager of the Stud, and my great-grandfather was a jockey - winning his first race at the age of 11. I'm not sure if they married in Ireland or back in England, but they moved to the UK and lived in Sussex before finally moving to Bicester, Oxon. I can't find any record of either of them at Brownstown Stud ... so if anyone knows where I should look, I'd be very very grateful for any advice. I think Brownstown has changed hands many times since.
Thanks so much,
Anna.

Hi,
Just to say a huge thanks for putting me on the right path. I've managed to find evidence that Eliza's parents were at Brownstown, and the stable lad you mention is indeed my great- grandfather!
Thanks again, Anna.
