I did do a selection course (pappa-course) in 1985 which almost broke my balls. I have been living in northern Sweden since 1986 and have only been home a few times since then. So my memories from the army are pretty foggy. I drank a lot back then too (-: I done a stint in the Swedish army and made sergeant major (fanjunkare) by 1993. Thanks for the reply "Macker" its a nice blast from the past. Terry (848442).

Hi John Thanks for the Post. The picture below is of an MP in the Glasshouse, taken in the late 1950's. Do you know him ? This one is somewhere in the Curragh also. Do you know any of their names ? All the best Matt[/quote The Soldier in the picture, taken within the Glasshouse compound, is that of my good friend Michael J Power. Michael had won some shooting competition with the Gustav SMG. Michael, although now residing in his native Tipperary, is in constant communication with me. Con Dee

Hi. I served in the 4th field signals, Ceannt bks as a dispatch rider from 22nd April 1952- 4th April 1954. During my time at Mc Donagh bks I and my three brothers were photgraphed for a recruiting poster and appeared in many down the country papers. I was one of the men that lined the street of Dublin when Sean T O'Kelly was elected as president for the third time. I elisted with 22 men from Wexford on the 4th April 1952 is there any of those men still alive or are the Condon's the only ones??
