Hi Liz,
Pat Christie here (now living in Mayo) I lived in one of those sheds in Owen Roe with Imelda and reared two sons there (David and Derek). family has grown much larger since then. The Roe was a cold place to live in during the winter but great memories of summers during my beat. Pat Christie

Hi Sean T, Great to hear from you.
Noel and I managed to cross the shannon into the west. Your crossing was a bit wider than that.
Did'nt think you would be interested in pubs?
How are you and family keeping. Noel and I going strong. New county, new colours. However the Curragh will always be the largest memory bank in our thoughts.
Have you ventured back to the Curragh lately?
Pat Christie

Hi P.J Great to hear you and Noel are still going strong. How are all your family. Sadly both of our parents have passed over Mum in 1998 and Dad in 2003 but they had a good innings. Iwas in the Camp last August could not get over as to how delapated it had become however it was where we were all born and grew up in and i still love it. It will always be my home town. Cheers for now Sean Tracey

Hi all. Does any one remember Danny Dunne?. Danny was a great Old Character around the Curragh, he was suffering from Shell shock from his experiences during the war. Danny would always give you a penny from his purse without you even asking. He was always at the pictures in the Curragh. Speaking of The flicks. the last film shown in the Curragh was The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. and No, I was'nt in it.
Regards to all Joey. Ps Rose I do remember the Owens and the Bevans

Hi Joey,
Yes I remember Danny well, he used to sit in the corner in the post office most of the day, always had a chat with him when I was in posting a letter for the Ma.
Now to go totally off the subject any of you Campers remember a Malcolm Coogan, who was on the Curragh for a spell, don't know if he was in the Army or Board of Works, a friends husband is trying to locate him for a re-union (old soccer team) if anyone has any idea where he went I would be obliged.
Cheers,
Rose.

There was another man used to come into the Camp from the Ballysax area Jack I think Delaney was his sir-name, he used to wear a huge white trench coat and wellies and soft cap. Think he used to go to Fagashe's for a jar on Friday nights and then up to the dry canteen for a cup of tea. As far as I can remember he was found dead on the plains one Saturday morning face down in one of those mini pools that form after heavy rain. Anyone else remember him.
Rose.
