I lived on O Higgins Road up to Twenty YEARS ago .Does any one remember me. Hello Sean, Do we remember - how could we forget? Nice to have seen you during the year on your recent visit. In case you have forgotten - I am Pat's big brother. Wishing you and all the family (whom I had the pleasure to meet) all the very best for Christmas (only hours away) and for the New Year! Looking forward to meeting you again in the not too distant future. You live in Scotland but I am not sure where - if you live anywhere near Crieff look up a band called "On The Wagon" . Regards from a former Curragh ex-pat, john

As a kid I lived in Newbridge Married Qrts. (absolutely no memory of it), then Clarke Bks (hazy recollection of riding a tricycle there) before moving to Ceannt and leaving in 1967 before folks moved to Glen House beside Sandes Soldiers Home. Even allowing for the rose tinted specs - the memories all seem positive. Congratulations to Matt on an excellent web site and I hope that all the browsers stop looking and start writing. Happy Christmas and New Year to one and all.

John Dwyer. I am surprised to learn there was 'married quarters' in Newbridge. Where were these and are they still there?.

I'm one of those browsers someone was bemoaning who never posts. I've been surfing the web for about a year and this is my first post anywhere. What inspired me tonight was the message from Joey Kelly who I (almost) remember well. I grew up in Pearse Bks and lived in Canteen House. My Dad was Paddy O'Connor the manager of the Canteen Board grocery in Ceannt. I remember the Kellys well, Francis and Martin and 'Sharkey' who swam like a fish! Joey was a bit older than me and would have been pals with my older brother Billy. What astonished me about Joey's post was all the long forgotten names he listed of the families we lived among. It brought memories flooding back and tears to my eyes. Thanks for the memories! I live in London now. I've been here a long time and never get back home at all. Last time I visited the Curragh was during 'the troubles' when it was all locked down. It was all so different then and I felt like a stranger. I sometimes visit the website in search of some lost connection. Tonight I surely found it. Thanks to all who have worked to create this space.....Francis

I also lived on owen roe road early seventies .... Number four from what i remember it was a tin shack not really suitable for the five children as was then, It's gone now ....well all but the foundations never appreciated the beautifull view out towards the ranges as a child however soaked it all in on a recent trip home. I remember the Bohans lived nearby also mulveys & maguires, can't remember anymore names from then so if anyone else does it would be great to hear them.
