Ref Shooting incident, this incident happened at the Post 0ffice barrier and it involved a senior Officer from the Ordnance Corps, whom was fond of the jar and when stopped by a newly promoted MP WHOM the said Officer hated with a vengence and is not long retired T,G. but on being stopped by the MPs at the barrier He strongly objected and would not wait for the Camper to come to I.D. THE OFFENDER and then attempted to drive through the barrier, and the MP DULY opened fire on the car and one of the rounds ended up in the dashboard of the car, the inquirey that followed resulted in the Officer getting a severe repremand by the GOC and the poor Cpl getting shifted out of the MPs and ended up in the Fire Station as an A/Cpl and serves to this day in the LOGSTIC HQTRS Q Section and often recalled the story,

Ref the 2 sheds McDonagh tce. I remember them well they were used as Fumigation sheds by the British Army in their occupation times, and were later used to store coal up until the 60s, remember sliding down the concrete chutes that led down to the bricquette sheds at the Hospital grounds near the Old Mourge. the challenge was to get over the one with the Big hole half way down ouch,

REMEMBER betting Giccy oHALLORAN 6 PENCE to dive off the top of the Steps over the FOUNTin the Marion Shrine, and into the water down below, the nut took up the challenge but not before He got the 6 pence so We all chipped in and low and behold up he gets and in he went hopping his head off the bottom of the FONT after we dragged Him out and threw Him onto his trolly and down to the Families to Sister Rowley and Dr Bourke, He was in for a week and kept looking for the 6pence that somone had slipped out of his pocket. but when Mollagh came looking for Giccys 6pence I swear we all gave everything we had in our pockets, in fear, Joey why did you have to decide to mind Giccys 6pence.

Hi Kaytho,
Was just wondering do you remember Richard and Monica Dunne, they lived up your end of B Block, they had no family, lived next door to Micko Kelly, anyway do you remeber him having the Bubble Car, it was blue, we would all gather when he opened the door in the front of it.

Hi Johnny,
Just reading the post re: sheds at McDonagh, were they used for fumigating soldiers, there was a kind of a smell of sheep dip in them, looked like gas chambers inside, sit on the block and wait. The walls were dyed a kind of pink.
Rose.
