To mark its 150th Anniversary, the Irish Times is opening its digital archive from today until 5th of April. This is normally a subscription service, but until the 5th it is free to view. You can use a search word like “Curragh Camp” and select a date between 1859 and 2009 and the archive database will bring back any entries in the daily paper from the time including photographs. Just checking the Curragh Camp brings back hundreds if not thousands of articles on the Curragh down through the years. Be careful as you can get sucked in and spend many hours browsing through the years. It is a really great service, so while its free, check it out.
If you see any articles of Curragh interest please post the link here.

Although not happy reading I came across this little piece about my Brother Pete McNamara’s inquest into his accidental death on the Curragh 1958. Does anybody know Richard Quinn ? A picture of Pete after making his Confirmation not long before the accident. My own son Pete McNamara (named after his uncle of course) makes his confirmation this May Matt
