I went to the girls school from 1975 to 1982 and remember the band playing next door to the school it was a lovely distraction, not to mention the many footballs that went through Mrs O Riordans class window. Does this still happen?

I also recall twin boys I had as friends and Richard across form us. There was an elderly couple as neighbours and a family called the Roches. Beck Have you lost touch with your family? Sweet shop lady could have been Mrs Mc Ateer. Shop was on Dobbins lane?

hI I think the school you might have went to was St Bridgids primary school it would have been quite a stretch from orchard park with little legs. The shop i think your on about would have been Dobbins. Biddy was a bit scarey sometimes but i suppose she had to be with so many kids in and out all the time. I found mackateers not so scarey. Not sure about your friends though but i'll ask a friend for you who has lived in orchard park. take care x liz

Hiya, I went to St. Brigid's School. Until 1988, I think. Had very fond memories of my time there. Did anyone else go to school there around that time?

Hiya,
Does anyone remember, I think I was in 6th class at the time. Maybe about 1988 or so. We were learning to irish dance. And the boys used to come up from their school, it used to take place in the assembly hall. Think our teacher at the time was Mrs. Kavanagh. And remember the boys had Mr. Byrne. Was just thinking of that now when read that someone remembered the girls going from the old school to the new.

Hiya all,
I ended up in the Girls School today for a few minutes and couldn't believe parts of it hadn't changed at all. Of course some of it was very different. But the cloakroom didn't look much different. Found it strange. Was amazed to see old confirmation photos on the wall outside where if I remember correctly used to be Mrs. Rowley's classroom. And there among them was my class.

Hi Caroline,
Yeah she taught me too. Was just saying there a few days ago, met Mrs. Cox last summer, I think it was, do you remember her? She taught me in high infants. I stayed back a year but since we ended up in the same class, you probably had her too.

Hi Caroline,
I don't remember her teaching us to knit. But then again, don't remember everything from years ago. Thought Mrs. O'Riordan taught me to knit. Stuck with me, coz I still do. Saw Mrs. O'Riordan during the summer but wasn't talking to her. It seems like a lifetime ago. Did you see the old confirmation photographs just inside the front door on the right, on the wall if I remember correctly was Mrs. Rowley's class. Was up there a few weeks ago collecting a little girl from school. It felt so strange been back there again.
Aisling.
