Hi to everyone. I hope i am posting in the correct place as i am new to the site. I am trying to collect information on Thomas Private Gaffney who married Mary Ann Gavan and lived on curragh camp in1906. I know he had children and one was Vincent gaffney born in April 1912 at curragh Camp. I have some of his service records. I am looking for the gaffney family. I know Thomas was discharged no longer fit for war service in 1919. and went to 2 Johnston's Cottages, but that is where i loose them. I know he was married at Templemicheal, Longford. I also know he had a brother in the Curragh Rangers named Joseph Gaffney. I would be very grateful for any information on his military life and also his family life. Many thanks Stars

Hi Stars in the 1911 Census there is a mention of one Mary Gaffney and her son Paul they are listed in the Curragh in the Hospital I assume that she has given birth to Paul as he is listed as 0 age.
The Irish Census is free to search. there is also Irish Roots .ie this is a pay site but you can do quite a lot of searching without paying you will have to register costs nothing
Have a search at any rate

Forgot to mention that IrishRoots.ie also gives 1901 census , deaths. births marriages and Griffith valuation but get as much information as you can before you pay the 5 euro to view a record and you have 6 months to keep viewing that record if you choose a record to view hope that makes sense

Hi Stars and Tricia 1951
Another good place to search are individual forums for the different counties i have had great success through them.
Also try google pedigree of the name you are researching some one else may be or have done research on the subject if so you can e-mail them direct
