Hi Joey,
Kathy and me are staying in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day and are really looking forward to watching the parade and having a few drinks in Temple Bar. The last time I was at a Paddy's Day Parade was in Sydney in March 2008 it was about 35 degrees and there were thousands of people lining the streets and joining in the celebrations, after the parade there was a big party in the park.
We a aiming to be at the Curragh Camp around midday on the 18th (if our heads are'nt hopping too much from the previous evening), and want to have a good look around McDonagh, I know there is not much of it left but just to have a walk around and think of the happy days we spent there will be enough. We would also like a drink in the mess and just maybe there might be someone there who might remember our lovely Dad and Mam. It would be so lovely to meet up with you and other friends if it is at all possible.
By the way, thank you for the information on the Gables Guesthouse we have booked in there for the night.
We will bring as many of the old photos we have to share and hopefully leave copies so that they can be put on the site, Kathy has a really good one of McDonagh Bks showing the three blocks with a rainbow arching over them.
Best wishes.
Eileen
