Hi Joey,Matt,Tommy and all, Great to see that your Shadowers Meeting has built up in momentum. Wish ye all the best of luck from the Morden Platoon how great is that gathering going to be? The memories and yarns along with the gargle will flow freely. I'm just so envious wish I could be with ye for your inaugural meeting I know ye will all have a great craic like we do at ours. Just be prepared to spend many hours there because once ye get together ye won't want to leave, and what a great opportunity for the newly appointed officers to meet the troops and celebrate your promotions in true Curragh style Best of Luck MaryF

Mary, thanks for the kind words, I think the biggest problem will be trying to decipher the tall stories (MOSTLY BY JK )from the not so tall. I hope we get a good turn out.

To all Shadowers Platoon, Glad to see you have set a date for your first meet, I'm sure it will be the first of many, and as Mary F said you'll all have a craic, and the hours will just fly by once the stories start, and I'm sure the more meetings you have the bigger the platoon will become, you never know maybe in the future the two Platoons will meet now wouldn't that be great.

Hi all, We will go ahead with the meet on Wed 20th at 11 O Clock in CEANNT NCO's Mess (uppercase text for Andy's benefit). And possibly have the meet of the shadowers on Sat 23rd in Ceannt, there cannot be much to organize, so all Shadowers have your best "bib and tucker" ready for Sat Night 23rd, if this date changes we will let you know in good time. Also make sure you go to the Bank/Drink Link and have your memoribilia and tall stories ready Regards

I see the Morden Platoon have begun a new recruitment drive under the watchful eye of Lt Afcmoore . I think the Shadowers need to make a good impression at the planned inaugural meeting in the coming weeks at a date yet to be planned. So we are calling on all shadowers and forum members living local to support this meeting. The Shadowers need you !!!!! Matt

Hiya Matt,Tommy and all, Great promotion poster Matt sure to draw the crowd in now Tommy without a 'Shadow' of a doubt you will have a great turn out I'm sure every forum member and guest will try their very best to make that first meet and there will be others who will wait for the photos and comments before they commit themselves to the next meeting. Once you've started it will grow and grow because whats become obvious from this site is that all of us no matter how far we've travelled or where we've ended up have like Louis left our hearts in the Curragh. Like the old saying goes you can take the girl/boy out of the Curragh but you can never take the Curragh out of the boy/girl. So just because of that ye will definetly have a good turn out because no Curragh person especially ones on this site will want to miss the opportunity to share their stories tall or otherwise with other ex campers. Mary C. I like your thinking too that at sometime in the future the 2 Platoons can meet up and who knows maybe Brendan can start one in the states and Louis can set one up in the Philipines. Remember you only need 2 Curragh people together to form a company, and there can be no better company than Curragh folk sharing memories. Best Wishes to you all, MaryF

Hi All. Just been reading a strange report in the Irish press. It seems someone has been going around the Curragh Camp in the dead of the night with a large hammer pinning up notices but he has been keeping to the shadows so he could not be identify. Cheers Anthony
