Hello Andy, Nothing wrong with the old memory Andy! white cream in a tube for the runners and Blanco block for the webbing, hell to play if you got some Brasso ( it used to go black ) on your webbing when preparing for guard duty in tin-town, happy times Ex Tpr Kelly Ex 1st Armd Sqdn

Nice to see the Old Guard keeping an eyeball on the site. yep the Brasso could make a right mess of webbing also to much Blanco ended up cracking. Have to say the button stick when used properly was a mighty piece of equipment. Keep safe Kelly. Andy

Hi All, Does anyone one remember collecting the silver paper? I think it was in aid of dogs for the blind! We used to wait for the fag packets to be finished and we'd then smooth out the inner silver paper using our fingernails very cautiously to avoid ripping. We did exactly the same to Easter Egg wrappers and every chocolate bar wrapper. In fact anything that was covered in foil was collected, smoothed out and if my memory doesn't fail me had to be weighed somewhere? Can anyone help me on that one? I wonder how many dogs our genuine efforts managed to get for the blind people? I don't know where ye are over there with the political correctness but, over here now the correct term is 'Enabling dogs instead of blind or guide dogs. I suppose it makes sense if you think about it! What good is a blind dog [as we used to say] to someone who cannot see? Bye For Now MaryF
