Dear Matt, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PHOTOS!!! OMG (as they say in text land) I will not be able to concentrate and do a days work today, I have just text Kate (who is doing an exam this morn) to tell her the photos are up and yes, Mary we will be spending a lot of time putting the names to faces! We will have a family pow-wow and see what we can come up with. I see a wonderful photo of Frank Patterson and Eily O'Grady with their dog (can't remember its name) but I remember poor Elsie Swan had to walk across the stage with the dog on the lead and one night she tripped and the dog (I think) fell into the orchestra pit!!! Watch this space as they say! Caroline

Hi Matt, All I can say is WOW, the photos are fantastic , I'll be looking over them for days and with the sisters to see who we can pick out, at the moment I'm going oh that whats her face !! I'm so in shock never thought I'd get to see any of these when I posted the topic. And to my darling sister Caroline, I'm sure it was Denis Mellery s ( not sure of spelling ) dog ,a king charles spaniel that poor Elise Swan had to walk over the stage with each night as he was conducting the band.

Great to see all the photos from Song of Glory.
I had a brief cameo in the show as a part of a family that were being evicted!
I still have the programme at home which President Hillery signed for me. I remember he patted me on the head and said well done!

My brother Dan sent me a link to Joey Kelly's reminiscences of 50s, 60s and 70s Curragh. It started me delving into this wonderful site - quite an achievement as I try to avoid computers. I don't remember Song of Glory though I recognise many Nás na Rí singers who I joined the following year. I do remember South Pacific and a while ago in Birr Castle, I was tickled pink to see a review of South Pacific on newspaper lining the shelves of the Birr Telescope exhibition!! This gave the highest praise to the production and mentioned both Pat and Mildred Mulcahy who played principal roles, and sadly are no longer with us. We lived in K Lines from '65 for about 10 years and this site is a great trip "down memory lane". Congrats and Happy New Year to all involved.
