Hi All
I received a request to-day from the project manager of the new Curragh Museum. As you may know the museum is opening in the Spring next year, and one of the original buildings on the Curragh Camp was chosen and totally refurbished and is currently been fitted out for the many displays. There will be various different sections in the museum covering all areas of The Curragh going back generations.
Anyhow there will a section covering the Curragh community down through the years. One of the displays in this section will a “A Day in the Life” shown in photographs the community spirit that we knew down through the years.
So if you have any family photographs or pictures of the Curragh Community going back through the years please send them to me and hopefully they may be included in the display. I know cameras were scarce back then but you will never know till you have a look in the attic and root them out.
Try and sent pictures with good quality, where you can make out faces and places and not blurred. If you can scan them and send them to me with a high resolution I will pass them on. If you don’t have a scanner and want them included, you can post them to me and I can scan them and return the originals to you.
All photographs I will put up on this site, unless requested not to by the owner. All photographs can be sent to my e-mail address matt@curragh.info and if anybody would like my home address to post some pictures to me for scanning please contact me through the same e-mail address.
So don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to have your piece of Curragh History displayed in the New Museum.
Matt
