Hi Anthony, I,m living in Caterham Surrey so not too far away, sorry missed the day in Morden but had only just got back off holiday and never got to check the site. I'm off home next week on Ryanair 0% flight for a week, so hopefully you post another date for a meeting and I can meet up then will keep a check on the site daily. It sounds like you all had a great day. It's a great idea the coffee morning as so many of us have moved away and lost touch, but to grow up in the Curragh I have to say were the best years of my life. Hope to see you all very soon Mary

Hi Mary,Kathyo and all, It will be lovely to see you both in Morden, we had a great craic the last day and the time jusy flew away. Two holidays in a few weeks good luck to you girl. One bit of advice with the Ryan Air% fares make sure you check in on line at least the day before your flight, because I got caught out on that one last time I took one of those offers. The cut off time for on line check in is 4hrs before the flight I missed that time by 10minutes and ended up having to join a very long queue of people in the same position and had to pay an extra £20 charge at the airport, which after the charges and taxes as well made it a very expensive "free offer" so just be careful with that one. The same applies if you're availing of that offer from home so make sure you check in with more than 4 hours to go. Bye for now MaryF

Hi MaryF Good advise for everyone, cheap fares but always a catch, I fly home a couple of times a year so use to it. But if you do it right you can get some good offers. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Mary

Please be aware, we in the Morden Platoon are currently in the process of arranging a get-together of all ex-Curragh Camp servicemen, civilians and others, indeed anyone with past or present connection with the Curragh Camp.
Further details to follow as and when full arrangements made.

Hi Con. Re M.P. The meeting of the Morden Platoon takes place .at 9-30am Saturday 12-12-09 outside Morden Station. The Platoon will be fell in and march down to Morden Hall Park where there is a delightful little cafe alongside the river Wandle. The entrance is off Morden Hall Road and there is free parking with no time limit if you wish to bring the car. We should arrive there about 10am where the platoon will march across the bridge and check either side for fish before falling out and going to the dining hall for grub. The little cafe is run by the National Trust and serves a range of delicious homemade cooking lunches, and tempting cakes. It even has its own sausages created especially by the local Butcher . There is a garden centre next door with plants in abundance .Should eat you to much molly's cake or sausages you can always take a walk in the park but I'm sure we will be to busy having the craic about old times in The Curragh.I hope Con you can bring the camera along as the last photos looked really great with the red London buses in the background. I'm really looking forward to seen you all and especially new members so do come along. Regards. Anthony.

Hi Katyo & Mary C. Thanks for making contact i would like to suggest you google Morden Hall which has a map on the right just in case anyone is late it is only 5 mins from Morden tube station. I was just hoping that Mags was checking out the posts on the MP? Just like to remind the Platooners who wish to make their way direct to Morden Hall the entrance is from Morden Hall RD and you can drive into the car park and make your way across the small bridge the cafe is to the left that is the venue for the meeting. Cheers for now. Anthony.

Just to clarify the situation regarding our meet on 12-12-2009, 09.30. As there is no parking facilities whatsoever in the area of Morden LT Station, drivers should go directly to the Morden Hall restaurent where there is more than enough parking places without restrictions. Should you get lost on the car journey to Morden, please call the following telephone number: 07900453534. Looking forward to meeting everybody, moreso the new recruits.

Hi to everyone concerned with the forthcoming gathering of the Morden Platoon. Looks like theres going to be quite a turnout going of ex-curragh folk. I for one am really looking forward to it. Great to hear that Mary C Kathyo and Mag are coming and hopefully there will be more turning up on the day who read about it and just decide to come along. The more the merrier. If its anything like the inaugral meeting last month you will be guaranteed a great craic and the best company you would ever wish to meet. So much in common and so many stories to share and reminise about without getting to maudling. All credit to Anthony and Limerick for coming up with the idea in the first place fair play to you lads. Regards to all MaryF
