Hi All, Hope you enjoyed the swim, sorry walk around the Curragh, if it went ahead.
Just happened to go through Pearse Married Quarters today, nothing but the Top Block left, Grey homes gone, houses on Owen Roe Road gone except Mc Hales later Bohans. Strange to see the Oil tanks in some of the back yards. Imagine we had solid fuel, courtesy of the establishment when they were not looking.
Regards
Joey

Hi All
Judging by the amount of rainfall in Newbridge yesterday evening I assume that the walk was called off. I had planned to walk with my son, but the rain put us off. Hopefully it will be rescheduled for a later date.

The AGM of the Curragh Local History Group will take place at the Clubroom (the old Band Hall opposite the Curragh Post Office) on Tuesday evening, June 12th 2012 at 7.30pm. Following the meeting, weather permitting, a walk will take place on the Curragh with Reggie Darling as guide from about 8.30pm. Plan 'B' is an interesting talk by Reggie after the AGM. Everyone welcome.

Curragh Local History Group
Tuesday night gone, a visit to the Curragh Military Museum by the Group.
An excellent informative night had by all in the Museum. Talks on all aspects and exhibit's, giving by the more then capable Charlie Walsh, he certainly knew his stuff and entertained us with his knowledge in a light hearted way easy to absorb while still getting the message across.
Well done Charlie.
