Hello Alma, its a long time since you were online last but just in case you look in to check your messages. Your Grandad served in the Congo twice, once with 33rd battallion and also with the 35th the next year.he was in the Congo when I joined up in August 1961. He was a man who commanded huge respect from men and officers alike and everybody felt secure and safe with his presence. All the very best to you and your brothers. From Sean.

Hello again Alma, I spent a lot of time at your Nans house (9b block at McDonagh) with your cousin Paddy Enright (3rd batallion) making lanyards, your Gran used to supply the picture cord that they were made of,for a cut of the profits. We had great laughs with your Gran, your Mother, Paddy and Myself during the process. Your Grandad was a strong fearless man but he could never swallow a tablet and we all used to go into hysterics and he would try to swallow an asprin or something. We laughed so much one night that we were lucky he didnt march us all to the guard house. Great to hear from you Alma. I didnt know your Dad but would probably know him by sight cause he was in the next barracks to mine and his Army number (811954) would have joined up a month or so after I did. All very best from a great friend of the Ambrose family, Sean.

Hi Alma, Paddy Enright used to visit Martin and Mary a few nights every week, he was from Adare and i understood he was related to your Gran. I know Martin was from Adare but I dont know if Mary was also from Adare but I thought she must have been. Paddy left the army about 1966 and I met up with him in London a few times. Best Regards Sean
