Hi all, god i remember them days well getting on that lorry at the picture house and we would be like a herd of cattle heading off for a hard and long days work, and we would all be singing "you should never throw your granny off the bus". When you arrived you would be meet by a man called Jim flood and a woman called Aggie, by god the made you work. But no matter what the were good happy days, and ones you would never forget.

Hi all I remember the fruit farm well but not as a place of fun. I remember the fruit farm gangers, the big lads with sticks making sure you were picking more than you ate. I also remember a strange way the bigger lads would add a bit more weight to the punnits. Hav'nt ate jam since... a stroy for another day. as for the dogs on the curragh well I was one of many that sandie had a taste off.

Hi Kathyo I remember Mr Smith well, a small dapper little man with a soft hat. I think the ma got furniture bedding etc from him, and usually paid the few bob every Friday. Just wondering did you have a cousin Biddy who came to Mc Donagh on holidays each Summer, I think Biddy hailed from Tipperary. Also was one of your Brothers named Christy or Gic as nicknamed.
Regards

Hi Katyo Thanks for that, Christy knocked around with myself and Andy Heffernan, Shanks Smullen, Fuddy Heffernan (RIP) Jerry O Brien, Frankie Sutton and Doney Bolger. Needless to say there was no major mischief except the odd raid on the Fruit farm, the rambles out to Blackers Island during Summer Holidays, and the odd day;s mitch from School, along with the few bob earned caddying up in the Golf Club.
Should you ever meet Biddy again tell her I was asking for her I was Summer boyfriend way back in those days , and also say Hi to Christy.
