Hi Sean T . I know it's a old post, but heck i'm new here and trying to catch up, it's a bit like someone saying O'H so an so film is on rte tonight an someone else says a'h that's a repeat, it's only a repeat for the persons that have seen it before, i too was reading the treads that other folk left, but i knew one day i was going have to post photos of Mick, i seen pictures that other people left an all the discussions it created also the amount of x soldiers, brothers ,sisters neices ,nephews, past friends , an a whole plethra of questions an answer, did you know t or y, h , some were sure they knew a fellow comrade they served with, or not too sure of someones face because of the mist of time they though they knew from the past.
Sean, as regards soldiers going all over the world , i was some years ago hauling goods from ireland to germany when one night i was involved in an accident, i was the only one involved, they first tried to say it was my fault, i soon showed them the errors of their way's, there was an young an oldis'h police man , the older man said "dont tell me you dont know the rules of the road here , they are for the most part the same all over the EU".
this is true word for word . "every where you go in the world , the Irish have been there before you, an there was a long pause, i said well officer, the old saying is true after all , what's that said the young officer,i said, i might be a paddy but i could be your daddy, the young officer took a fit of laughter an said i'm glad you wern't cheeky to the old man , an i know the road sign's are much the same because i trained with the polce in Dublin and Hendon police collage in england before Ireland joined the EU. he could speak better english thsn i could. probley spell better as well, ha ha Edward.
