I joined The Curragh Camp Boy Scouts in the Mid 1970's. My first time away from home was on Summer Camp to Co Sligo. I also remember my mother Maureen (Mrs Mc) making the new flag to replace the old one which is in the following photograph that was sent to me by Frank Connolly, who is also in the photograph. Were you a member of The Curragh Camp Boy Scouts down through the years. If so please share your memories here. All the best Matt McNamara

I am sad to say that three of the scouts in that picture have passed away. I am still in contact with Eddie Byrne and Tommy Carey. In what part of the world did the rest of you settle down. Drop an eMail to the site and say Hello.

Hi Tom
Good to hear from you. Sorry but I was away for a couple of weeks and was not able to drop in on the forum. Good to see your posts on the various threads. I am fairly certain that I have a photograph somewhere of you and I posing in our Scout Uniforms in Kildare railway station. We were headding off on summer camp to Sligo. You were right about Ma Baker (Boney M), it was playing all the time.
All the best Tom

My brothers Michael, Robbie and myself were in the scouts from the mid sixties to the mid 70s. Myself and Michael are in the front row of that first photo. Great memories. Curragh Boy Scouts rocked.

Dont recognise any from that Photo, but now I know who you are Matt, and also remember the Moores, The Goofs and the Coughlans, have been involved in Scouting for 100's of years myself (with Kilcullen) so remember people like Murty Purcell with great fondness. Good to see that some of the McNamara's were involved to say hi to Olive for me
