Hello All,
My grandmother's brother Patrick "Paddy" Deely was in the Army from 1922 until 1946. During that time he worked with the horses at the Army Equitation School. After his retirement in 1946, he worked as a Groom for Commdt. Thomas Patrick Finlay. He was the same age as Commdt. Dan Corry and they both came from the Loughrea area, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that he's mentioned in Paddy's obituary. Does anyone remember these names? Or remember Tom Finlay's stables and riding school? I believe that they were in Phoenix Park?
Many thanks, Glen

I have Paddy's service records and I see that he was stationed at Curragh during the early 1940s and transferred to the Horse Transport Company.
