I am looking for more information on Patrick Tuite, who was my Great Uncle and was born in Landenstown in 1889. I know that he was Adjutant of the Prosperous company of the Irish Volunteers prior to independence, and he had a rank of Lieutenant Commander at the time of the military census in 1922.
In 1930 he married Annie Browne in the Curragh camp church, and both were residents of the Curragh camp. I have had a search through the married quarter records but cannot find anything there.
In 1931, Major Patrick Tuite of the Curragh camp was a member of the Military Tribunal created to try members of illegal organisations.
As far as I have been able to find out, he had one son, Francis, born in 1931. I believe that Patrick Tuite died in 1952.
If anyone has any other information on him, please let me know.

Thanks for your help. The 1901 census records are for his family. Mary Tuite, Patricks sister, was my grandmother. I will have a look at the other census records. They may refer to another family who lived close by.

Bob forgot to mention as you have all his details from 1922 Census then if you Contact Cathal Brugha Bks then you can obtain his records.
You probably are ahead of me on that one.
Checked all Married Qtrs and no mention of him having lived on the Camp or Kildare Bks

I did contact Military Archives, but the only person who can get access to the records are proven next of kin. I know that Patrick had a son, Francis, who then had a daughter called Mary, but unfortunately, my family lost contact with the family in Ireland in the 1950's (no idea why), and I have no contact information for them.

Have you any birth or marriage certs for any of them as they normally give an address ??
1957 on find my past a mention of an Eimer born and died same year. Not sure if it is same family as I do not have a paid account. Try Dublin forum a very useful and helpful bunch of people you may have to put your query to many sides of Dublin. Also face book a simple " any connection to McCormack to a Tuite may pay dividends Francis wed cert should yield address's for home and possibly a church if so try that church.
Sorry not much help .
Andy
Oh if you goggle Patrick with his rank there is a large doc with a commandant Tuite at some enquiry in Dublin

just had a look at irishgeneology.ie
Marriage for Margaret and francis 8 sept 54 also Mary 1955 also two Margarets deaths 1993 aged 68 1986 aged 55 Have a look at the site it tells you how to order certs etc the above details are in civil records for Dublin not north or south just Dublin, you can also use it to trace around the other counties. Only used this for first time tonight as it is new but good.
Happy searching. OOps no death recorded for a Francis up to present time so either death cert for the two deceased ladies should lead you to an address and Francis, I advice buy the two of them small price for the info you require. Andy

Post by Patrick Tuite on Aug 7, 2014 9:59:40 GMT
Patrick Tuite was my grandfather, and Frank my father, deceased now. He had two sons only, the other also called Patrick, who died in London and never married. Patrick's last commission was as Lieutenant Colonel, and he was based in McKee Barracks on Blackhorse Avenue, Dublin. The family lived in Drumcondra. My father married Moira O'Moore also deceased, and we lived in Howth, where my mother was from. My grandfather had died before I was born in 1969, Annie died shortly after. We do still have in the family official stamped and signed documents empowering my grandfather to serve on the Special Military Tribunal for two occasions.
We had family in Kildare who we used to visit on occasion, when I was a lot younger, usually when also visiting Mondello, or one of the horseracing tracks nearby. Both my grandfather and father were big into horses.
I'm not very knowledgeable about names or connections other than this, I'm afraid.
Hope this helps. Regards Patrick

Patrick
Great to hear from you, and very sorry for the delayed response. Your grandfather Patrick was my Great Uncle, brother of my Grandmother Mary. I would be more than happy to let you have access to the information I have, which is on the ancestry web site, and would be very interested to learn more about your side of the family.
Regards
Bob
