Matthew Joseph Farrell

Hi,

I'm looking for some information on my great great grandfather Matthew Joseph Farrell. He was stationed at Curragh in 1894 as his son, also named Matthew Joseph Farrell was born there 19th August - mother was Mary Finn.  The only other information that I have on him was where he is listed on his sons marriage certificate in Nov 1917 as colours sergeant (dead).  It's really hard to find information as not only was Matthew Joseph Farrell in the army - his son Matthew Joseph Farrell was also in the army and was a sergeant. Any info would be helpful as I've been searching for months and months and have hit a dead end.

if you can get a army number or unit that they served in, it will be of great help. as both would have served in the British Army you should make contact with either the British Legion or British Army records, you can get the address if you google same. good luck with your search.
