A few pics of myself while serving with C Coy 66th Inf Bn UNIFIL 1989/90 (Winter Trip ) HMG at Post 6-42 Medal Parade at Coy Hq Post 6-16 Matthew I served with HQ Coy, in the Stores in Tech Town, during that trip also known as Jaffa batt because of the orange colour in the unit flash. It was a nice trip until a shell peppered all sides of the Shed we used to play badminton in. Great work done on the site. Tiny

Hi Guys, My name is Brian Mitchell, I served with the 57th, 61st, 66th & 74th Bn's in Lebanon. I have recently started up a site which is all to do with UNIFIL. The idea is to try to get together as many photographs as possible of our time in the Leb, so others can see them, and learn what it was all about. Its also going to be a place to meet up with old comrades who maybe you havent seen or heard from for a while, whom you served with overseas. There will also be a notice-board in time as well. If you have any photos and would like to get them up on the site, Or if you have any ideas or suggestions, please have a look at www.unifil.ie Thank you. p.s. Hi to "Tiny" who put up the post before this one, we did 2FM Lebanon together ( I used the name Brian Davis on the Radio )

Hi guys, I have just published a book on Army service called "In Search of the Wadi Monster." There's a lot of the Leb in it as you can see by the name! I served there as an MP Sgt with the Ist UNIFIL MP Coy '78/79, and as an Infantry Sgt with 52 Inf Bn, 66 Inf Bn and the 74th. The book should be 'on the shelves' in about a month.

Hi Paddy, that book goes on sale tomorrow in Easons (in Athlone at least) The book is not only about UN Service but Army service in general, ie, training on the Curragh, yarns of the times, stories, nicknames, Army slang, photos, Anecdotes, all about how things 'used to be.' I'll get back to you when I discover how widespread Easons distribution reaches, or I'll email you my address.
