Hi Ella I remember your late grandfather well He was stationed in the Ordnance Corp and worked down in the Magazine. his son also nicknamed jigger was also in the Army and served in McDonagh barracks as a cook. sadly there are no photos of your grandfather about as of now due to vast changes in the Curragh with most of the units disbanded and joined into other units and with therefore so much of unit history having being mislaid but during the week i will have a search of the magazine to see if there is any photos left around the place. bye for now Johnny

Hi Mat - Joe Doyle here again I do remember Donal very well indeed a great bunch of guys in the 1st Armoured when i served there Tommy Gurka O Connor was our TROOP Sgt at first then i think Jim McGRATH took over from him our first CS was Tom the Blob Sinnott and then Terry Hall i have some good memories of my time in the curragh .Give my reguards to Donal and keep up the good work , Donal probably knows me better as Dopey Joe. Hey Joe Doyle. I was the C/S after Tom Sinnott and before Terry Hall in the 1st Armd Sqn from 1976 to 1981. Colin (Doc) O'Callaghan
