Hi All Just put a new page on the Web Site to honour all the Soldiers of the Defence Forces who have died while serving overseas on the various UN Missions. And by coincidence today is the anniversary of young 21 year old Pte Michael McNeela, killed on this date in 1989. RIP Roll Of Honour: www.curragh.info/honour.htmMatt

Hi Matt,
A fitting and lasting tribute to those who lost their lives in the pursuit of peace for their fellow man.
May they all Rest In Peace.

Hi Matt, Just browsing through your Roll of Honour and I see one mistake. Cpl. Liam Kelly. On your list as 25-12-1960. This seems to be a common mistake as the same date appears on most of the fabulous memorials erected by IUNVA. The correct date is 24-12-1960. I remember the day as if was yesterday.I worked as a shop boy and his mother was in the shop when an Army officer, the local Garda Sgt and the local PP came into the shop. They took her into the office to tell her the terrible news. Even though it was 51 years ago, I can still hear that poor woman's screams as if it was yesterday. That sound will stay with me 'till the day I die. Cpl. Kelly is a relative of mine and I meet his brother Paddy (ex 3rd Bn )regularly. jakel

Matt,
A great piece of work, looking through the roll of honour the heart sank a bit reading the names, especially with the last post playing away in the background I had forgotten how many lads I knew who have passed on. I am sure it will be very helpful to anyone searching for information or who just want to browse.
Well done again

I remember with sadness the day this happened. This tragic accident happened returning from a St Patrick's Day parade. The memory stays with me to this day.
