Your G/Mother was very young when she passed away (do you know the cause)of her death? Also do you think you may be able to provide your G/mother's DOB? and I may be able to find an answer for you. She should have a death certificate with DOB or perhaps her marriage cert?. You can email me if you wish to keep the info private.

Hi all, I sent a copy of the Corpus Christy photo to an ex Curragh school mate as I noticed he featured prominently in it. His reply is listed below. I’m sure it will evoke fond memories for members of the forum. Especially those of us who have just past the first flush of youth. JJ
“Hi John, I well remember those Corpus Christie processions, especially kneeling on razor sharp chippings on McDonagh parade ground for seemingly hours during a mass complete with all the trimmings. Talk about the crucifixion! Everyone then processed down towards Pearce turning right and right again passing married quarters on the left as we returned for benediction and more crucifixion. All the houses were decorated with altars of holy objects and flowers. The procession was so long that those at the front had almost returned before those at the back had left. How conforming to Catholicism was that! By the way, judging by the trees in the background of the photo, I think it was taken looking across towards the K Lines where the British and German prisoners were housed (I can't say interred) during the war. On first viewing I couldn't place any faces in the crowd but on adult reflection and based on the year the photo was taken names began to suggest themselves to me. The cheeky little git at front towards the right looks familiar. The small black, straight haired lad to his right in the photo looks like Patsy White. The small curly-haired lad four back to the left at front could be Michael Power. In the next row back, just over his left shoulder, looks like Michael Kelly. There are a few others that I maybe recognize. All mentioned were classmates of mine and I cannot be definite as to their identity. Thank you for going to the trouble of emailing the photo. It brought back memories of a time of pomp and ceremony and show and certainty and control. However there was always a few pals you could depend on to be sane. Hope you and yours are keeping well. Regards John D. PS. The cheeky little git is none other than myself.”

Hi, My father, Sgt Harry O'Leary was the man that looked after the fruit farm. On his retirement he handed over the fruit farm to Sgt Quinn In 1963.

Would that be the same Peter Hickey that looked after the church and would have been present in most wedding photos somewhere in the background.
