Hi Edward, that was my one and only time that I mitched from school, but it was fun hiding out in the Bunker and there was someone there before us as there was crockery and other items to keep us occupied and we nearly forgot to go home. They were such good innocent times. Anne.

I never mitched from national school, but did once from Secondary, the longest, coldest day I ever put down.
I had a teacher who had a flask of coffee at eleven every morning, we were'nt encouraged to look at her either while she drank it. It suited me as I had the job of running down to the neighbour who got it ready for her, I got a few minutes off Irish and often took my time, telling the odd fib that Mrs O Brien did not hear me knocking. Why were'nt they drinking their elevenses while we were out at sus, if it was such a sacred activity, that we could not look at them, I wonder.
Rose.

Hi Fahy Welcome to the forum. I grew up on O'Higgins Tce, not too far from you Mother. I remember your Grandparents well and one thing I do remember is an old car (Ford Anglia) which was parked out side their house and we would play in it. That is until your Grandfather and Uncle Mick decided to tow it to the dump in Plunkett. Of course all us kids piled into the banger going to the dump and helped push it off the cliff to the dump below. I even remember the registration number (EIO 444), you can ask your Uncle Mick that one. That was about 1974, now I can't remember what I had for breakfast :-), strange what the old brain holds on to. Not your Grandfathers car, but one like it. Matt

Hello Ces Power,
Glad to see your still going strong, when I saw your name I was remembering back to our NCOs course and all the hardship we got. Iam sure the picture of the course passing out is in the photo gallery somewhere.
All the best
Tommy Sweeney
