going back on some old posts, cant believe seeing Mr Cronin the family lived next door to us in the Grey Homes but i would not have picked out young Joe. Can still remember Mrs Cronin crying all night when Joe left for the priesthood she was missing him so much.

The team back row (standing) extreme left may be a chap called Martin (?) Gallagher and at the opposite end of the same row may be Donal (?) Douglas older brother of Brendan seated on the ground in the front row second from the right. Fourth from left in the middle row (kneeling) is Bobby (?) Ryan. Hope this may jog a memory or two.

That is certainly myself and Brendan in the photo. Vinnie Cullen is also in the front row.
I doubt that it was the Under 12 team as I was only 9 at the time and Brendan only 7/8.
Also if there were older boys< I would remember them better, perhaps, than my own vintage

Hi all Welcome to the forum Donal glad to see that you are still casting a shadow. just to update on the photo. it was taken in front of the sisters mess in front of the hospital(big one) as nearly all hurling and football finals was played down on the pitch that was just across from No 3 range, on the south road.

John, very good to hear from you. All the Douglas siblings (11) are still casting shadows, thank god. Some larger at this time of year than they will be at the end of a less indulgent January!
Have a great Christmas.
Donal
