Hi All Just read in today's Irish Independent that this week 40 years ago President Richard Nixon of the United States on a State Visit to Ireland, stopped off in Kildare town and went on to see race horses training on The Currgah Plains. President Nixon on the plains. Matt

Hi Matt also another great picture also to day 31 years ago Pope John Paul was in the Phoenix Park my Dad Jackie and Brian went up to the Mass . Maura Kearney.

Hi Maura, I remember that time when the pope came to Ireland, I had just back from visiting my sister Eileen in London with my mum and I had to run up to the church to get on the bus to Galway to see him, we all camped out that night, I remember as it was so wet, but a great experience.

Hi,
i remember President Nixon visit, i was at school at the convent in Kildare all the school kids lined the road and were given flags to wave as he and his wife Nancy passed by in their car
