Hi Joan,
When it comes to the jokes, Hal Roach I ain't,, sometimes I get it right sometimes not, such is life.
I thank you in advance for your prayers for this sinner on your trip to Lourdes, very kind of you.
I took the liberty, (hope you don't mind,) of reciprocating, this morning I lit a penny candle and prayed for you at the shrine of St Thérésé.
If we all as humans said a prayer for our fellows we might just have a better world.
Andy

Hi Andy,
Hope you did'nt spend all your pennies on candles for Joan, hope mine was lighting too.
I did my usual after mass yesterday, headed over and had the picture of Our Lady of Perpetual Help alight with my half dozen or so candles, said the few prayers and left. When I got home I realised I had not put the money in the box, it was still in my pocket, shame on me, Miss O'Brien will be turning in her grave, will double up next time I am in, but feel like I have robbbed the poor box.
On my trip to Killarney two weeks ago made a visit to the Cathederal, was in Killarney before, but had not gone in, to anyone visiting Killarney would highly recommend a visit, no matter what your religious views, the sheer magnificence of the building, not to mention the peace and quiet just to empty the old head if you never said a prayer.
The pubs are good too by the way........
Rose.

Rose, Shure you and yours are on the list, plenty of prayers to go around.
Different Church's and cathedrals are well worth visiting, I try when anywhere to have a peek, loads around Kildare.
The pints in Killarney very tasty, have had the pleasure of supping some.
Andy

We went to Kilarney for a few days in May- beautiful scenic views of the mountains, and lots of lovely soft rain!!! Unfortunately missed the cathedral and the pubs!! -next time!!! J X

hi Jac Hope you had a nice holiday in Spain I went over to London to visit my friend Pat Coughlan as she was visiting her Father - she went back to Austraila the following week oddly enough she could not remember you either. However, we spent most of the weekend talking about the Curragh and the memories - unbelievable - . She will be visiting the Web-Site herself to catch up with some long lost ex residents of the Curragh Camp. Talk soon. Mary K.

Hi Mary, Spain was great -I loved Barcelona, and of course the weather was sun and more sun, so difficult not to enjoy it!! Sorry I can't remember Pat, it was a very long time ago!! It's a real pity that we didn't have class photographs taken at school, that would have helped with the memory! Perhaps, Pat will post school photos on the site and that will help jog the memory!! Talking about old photos, I saw lovely one of some pipers followed by a group of little boys (Jimmy Pendergast was one of them) I can't remember where I saw it! Can anyone help with this?? All the best J X

Thanks to Johnny and Matt for the information about that photo and for posting it again! I would love to get a copy of it but don't know the best way to do that. A print off this site will probably be poor quality- does anyone know where the original is or how I might get a decent copy? Glad you had a great time in Lourdes Joan! I hope you lit a candle for me!! Your mammy sounds great, give her my best and wish her continued good health. I hope your little candle for world peace has some effect, but we might have to wait a while for that....never give up! Jx

Hi Joan,
I suppose The church is nearly on fire with all the candles you lit for me!!!
Sounds like you had an amazing time and also your Mother - I went there many years ago and it left a great impression on me.
My mam was there last year and she talked about it for at least six months after.
Anyway look after yourself and be good.
Mary K.xxxx
