Thanks to Tom Hetherington for sending the following photograph. They all went to the Boys School Curragh around the same time as myself. I think it was taken arounf 1976/7 Back Row L to R Terry Smyth, Kieran Griffin, Ger Power, John Ryan, Jim Maguire. hi matt my brother john (burnzie) was in their class lived next door to john ryan in o higgins tce I know John well, we were both in the same Platoon in the 3rd Inf Bn in 1985. I met John recently in Baldonnal just before he went on his ticket. Thell him I said hello. Matt

Ken. Your right it is Pat and Kieran and the other guy I think is Ger Power from Cork. Kieran's dad was the trainer I also have another photo which I am trying to find and it is of the other team on the day. Matt how long is John Byrne gone from the army?

hi matt will tell john you said hi he will wonder how i was talking to you hes doing a course in galway at the moment for paremdic on the ambulance said hes enjoying it up to his head in paper work ger

I came across this Members Card for St Josephs Hurling Club Curragh 1966. It was my brother Donal's card and he would have been around 10 when he was playing. I didn't even know of such a Hurling Club. Did any of the forum members play for the club? Matt

WAS A MEMBER OF THE HURLING CLUB IN THE CURRAGH UP UNTIL THE MID SIXTIES CURRAGH WERE U/14 U/16 LEINSTER CHAMPIONS WON IN THE PHOENIX PARK GROUNDS IN AROUND 1966 MR GEORGE QUINLIN LOFTY DWYER TOMMY STOKES WERE THE TRAINERS HELD MEETINGS IN THE OLD SCHOOL HUTS IN CEANNT TOP OF THE SCHOOL YARD. I GOT SUSPENDED MORE TIMES FOR PLAYING SOCCER IN THOSE DAYS UP THE SAINTS. JAKELLY SHARKY
