Hi all, New to this site, so not sure if this is best place to ask: my dad's uncles, James and Michael Farrell, from Ballyporeen parish, co.Tipp, trained at the Curragh. It seems Jimmy then went over to train at Epsom, and rode in some grand nationals etc; he lived the rest of his life in Surrey, England. MIchael went over to the U.S., and i know no more that. The Farrells were born in 1890's. My question is: is there any way of finding out more on the jockeys who trained at the Curragh, in the first half of the 20th century ? Many thanks for any hints! Mags

Hi Mags Have you contacted the Irish Turf Club based on The Curragh. If your Dad’s uncles were registered Jockeys I am sure they will have their details. I know they keep records going back hundreds of years. They have a web site at www.turfclub.ie you can get contact details there. I hope this of some help and do let us know how you got on. Matt

Hi there, Thank you so much both of you for your replies. I will certainly try the turf club records it's worth a shot! And so sorry it's taken me this long to acknowledge, I simply forgot I'd posted something on here last summer, I post so many messages on various boards... Thanks again, Mags
